"Element" moved to Misc but Extract Text appears disabled in Trial version

In attempting to replicate the VacationHomes example, I see that 'Element' has been moved to the 'Misc' menu. In that menu, there is no checkbox to the left of 'Extract Text' and the extract returns a count (1,2,3) for the State Name rather than the State Name itself. How do I extract text? Thank you.

At 96 DPI (normal font size) certain items are not visible. I navigated to Display/Settings/Advanced/Custom and set the font size to 88%. This resolves the issue. Thank you.
