You may get a message such as "SmartAssembly trial has expired" when starting Visual Web Ripper.

Obviously, we don't use a trial version of SmartAssembly, but a fully licensed version. This error is caused by a bug in the SmartAssembly build tool. We have received new software from Redgate (the author of the software) and a fix is now available in the latest version (2.46.0).

Unfortunately, you'll need to uninstall your current version and then download and install the latest version to fix this problem.

I got the error mentioned above, uninstalled, downloaded 2.45.16 and installed. When I try and open it I now get an error:

"The type initializer for '<Module>' threw an exception.

Please tell Sequentum about this problem.

There is a 'Send Error Report' button in the error screen, however unfortunately it is greyed out.

I don't seem to be able to replicate this problem, but it is probably caused by some leftover files in the Visual Web Ripper installation folder. Please try the following:

1. Uninstall Visual Web Ripper
2. Remove the folder C:\Program Files\Visual Web Ripper
3. Install the latest version of Visual Web Ripper again.

The temporary fix provided in 2.45.15 and 2.45.16 did not work properly, and the software will still expire. We have now received fixed software from Redgate and the expiry problem is now finally solved in Visual Web Ripper v2.46.0.
